Set of two Gouda Polychrome ceramic storage jars
A charming pair of ceramic storage jars featuring a detailed architectural illustration of the historic Gouda City Hall (Stadhuis Gouda), one of the Netherlands’ most iconic Gothic buildings. Both jars belong to the Gouda polychrome decorative tradition. Although identical in design, the two pieces differ slightly in lid coloration—one with a blue-glazed top (vintage version, c. 1970s–1980s) and the other with a honey-brown lid (modern reproduction, late 20th–early 21st century). Originally designed as biscuit or waffle jars, they were often sold as souvenirs or decorative kitchenware from Gouda. Today, these versatile containers can be stylishly repurposed for storing cookies, tea, coffee, sugar, or even as small planters or utensil holders - blending Dutch charm into any contemporary kitchen.
Condition: The vintage jar has a chip on the bottom.
Dimensions: Height: 12 cm (4.7 in), Diameter: 11 cm (4.3 in).
