This exquisite hand-painted artwork comprises four ceramic tiles framed in rich wood. Size of the whole painting: 30x30 cm (11.8x11.8 inches). It depicts a historic 17th-century Dutch sailing ship, showing intricate detailing and vibrant tones. Created by "Westraven," a renowned ceramic producer from Utrecht, Netherlands.
Westraven was a renowned ceramic factory based in Utrecht, Netherlands, established in 1661. The factory specialized in creating high-quality hand-painted ceramic tiles, decorative plates, and other ceramic art pieces. Westraven became famous for its traditional Dutch craftsmanship, often inspired by historic and maritime themes.
In 1963, Westraven merged with the "De Porceleyne Fles" factory in Delft, becoming part of the larger Delftware production. Since the merger, the original Westraven factory ceased independent operations. Westraven ceramics are no longer produced, making original pieces rare and sought after.
