Pair of two Delft-style vases, Mosa Maastricht L. Regout 1900-1930s
This pair of vases, featuring a traditional Dutch waterscape in blue, was not made in Delft but originated from the Mosa ceramics factory (L. Regout) in Maastricht. The vases likely date from the period 1900-1930 and are made of porcelain. About Royal Mosa Maastricht Hubert Regout founded the company in 1883 together with his son Louis and it was based in Meerssen. At the time, the company was called Louis Regout & Sons. At the start, it mainly produced blue Chinese imitation porcelain. In 1957 Mosa opened a factory in Maastricht and in 1983 received the designation royal. To this day, Mosa is known worldwide for their ceramics and tiles. The vases feature a bulbous body and tall neck with finely detailed cobalt blue decoration. The decor is executed in transfer-print with hand-finished accents, typical for the period.
