Hand painted porcelain portrait plate, Vienna style, c.1900
An exquisite decorative porcelain plate featuring a finely hand-painted portrait of a lady in Renaissance attire. The composition showcases remarkable attention to detail—from the delicate facial expression to the richly textured costume in deep green and gold tones. The artist used raised enamel painting to create subtle three-dimensional highlights on the jewelry and floral details, giving the piece a luxurious, tactile quality. The border is adorned with a repeating floral motif in vibrant enamel colors. The reverse side bears an impressed number “99,” typical of late 19th–early 20th century European porcelain blanks, likely produced in Germany or Austria and later decorated by an independent porcelain studio.
A fine example of Vienna- or Dresden-style portrait art, designed for display rather than functional use.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, with only minor age-related surface wear.
Dimensions: Diameter 25.5 cm (10 in)
